The old medicine cheetah quietly padded to the cave entrance. She carefully carried some flowers in her mouth and dropped them on a flat stone. She then dug up some roots and added them to the flowers. Akila entered the cave and returned with a medium round rock. After precisely placing it on the plants, she started to roll it over them.
After a while she stopped rolling the stone. All that remained of the plants was a greenish mush. Akila took the flat rock with the goo still on it and carried it to her den for later use.
If anyone would have watched her, they wouldn't understand what she was doing. Akila was actually making an ointment for healing deep wounds. You never know when you might need it.

Amira ran into the den,Kiara dangling in her jaws. She looked at her daughter`s deep wounds, and then her own.One was a deep wound in Kiara`s shoulder that was at least 2 inches deep recieved from the horns of a Thompson gazele (Sp?)."Can you help her? Please do." Amira said, looking at Akila.Kiara woke up."Mummy!" She squealed, licking her mother`s chest.

Akila came out of her den and found a female cheetah holding a cub. She gasped when she saw their deep wounds. "What has happened?" she asked from the fae, who apparently was the cub's mother. She needed to know what had caused the wounds in order for her to use the right medicine.

"She was hit by a thompson gazelle`s horn.More like was rammed into while I was hunting. And now I just saved her from burning in a fire.I nearly lost her." Amira said, putting Kiara down. Her burns were bad,but Kiara came first. She licked the cub`s scorched pelt and smiled at her.She sighed heavily, and looked to Akila.

"I see." the medicine cheetah muttered. She inspected the cubs wounds, checking to see if there was any infection in them. She then trotted back to her den and brought the ointment she had just finished. She took a large leaf and dipped it into the mush. She then rubbed onto the wounds. "Now this might sting a bit, but trust me, it will help a lot." Akila said in a warm voice to calm the cub. Done with the cub, she looked at the mother cheetah. "You don't look so good either. Wait right here." the female said as she went back to her den. She returned with two dark green leaves. "These are for the burns" she instructed, "Eat one yourself and give one to your cub. And come back later so I could check your healing." With that said she went back to her cave.

"Another poor hurt cheetah" the old femme though when she came out of her den. Akila walked closer and gently nuzzled to young female. "I am the Medicine cheetah Akila. What's the matter with you, sweetie? Are you hurt?" she asked in a calm voice and sat down in front of her.

Mayd nodded her head and held out her paw. "A wilderbeast stepped on it while I was hunting and now I can barely walk" Mayda said all this calmly and then treid to step on her ingured paw and winced.

Akila shook her head when listening and touched her paw. "I hope it isn't broken, otherwise the healing will take long." "Now, I know this might hurt and it will, but I need to understand how bad it is." The female grabbed her bloody paw between her sensitive paws and gently squeezed and touched it everywhere. After doing that for some time she stopped and said "Well, the bones aren't broken, though there might be some cracks in them, but it will heal." She hurried to her cave and took some long thin vines that resembled bandages. She wrapped them around her paw. "There, all done. You aren't allowed to hunt for some time. Do you have a clan?"

While Mayda had been with Akila, Nakir had circled the Medicine cheetah's cave, looking for any signs that Amber had been here. But the male found nothing; his mate had not visited this place. "Are you sure Amber was supposed to be here," he asked from Mayda, "or was it just a guess?"

The medicine cheetah thought about her question. "Maybe half the season or so. It's just needed so you wouldn't hurt your paw before it has completely healed. And since you have been so nicely calm during your visit, I am going to give you a treat." She went back to her den and brought out a large rodent. It's meat was very tender and tasty and she planned to give to the female as a gift.

Mayda gave a deep purr thanking Akila for her gift then she turned to Nakir. "I was nearly sure that shee may be here but maybe she's somewhere else. Don't worry you will find her soon" Mayd tried to assure him. Then taking the rodent in her mouth walked off.
